Promise clients their logins never leave your machine.
Their login cookies are stored on your machine, encrypted with its keychain, and TexAu never receives them. The automations run from your IP or a proxy you pick.
Step 1
Connect a client's account in one click
Log in to the site in Chrome and click the TexAu extension. It hands the login to the desktop app on the same machine, and the app encrypts it with your computer's keychain before saving it. Connect as many client accounts as you have.
Proxies
Give each client its own IP
Jobs use your own connection by default. Give each client account its own proxy and their jobs stop sharing your IP. TexAu checks every proxy and blocks jobs on one that stops responding, so a dead proxy won't send a client's work through your home connection.
Limits
Decide how hard each account works
Every automation that uses a logged-in account comes with a default limit per account, and you can change it. Set a new or fragile account lower. When an account reaches its limit, the job pauses and tells you why. Resume it later and it carries on from the first row it hadn't tried.
Files
Files go where you put them
You pick the CSV that goes in and the folder the results go to. Every run stays in History, so next month's refresh is one click.
Data
What TexAu's servers receive
Your email, license key, a machine ID, your machine's name, and the minutes you've used each month. That's how the license is checked. In return, TexAu sends the latest automation list.
Server
Run big jobs on a server overnight
Rent a cloud machine, install TexAu Desktop, and big jobs keep running after you close your laptop. Run hours are unlimited, so a server running all month adds nothing to your TexAu bill.
What you need
- A cloud machine with a desktop: a Windows VPS, a hosted Mac, or Linux with a desktop environment. TexAu Desktop is a desktop app, so it needs a screen session, even a virtual one.
- Chrome and the TexAu extension on that same machine. You log in to each client account from the server's browser.
- Your license key. One key activates one machine, so the server becomes your TexAu machine.
On a server, client logins are stored and encrypted on that server, the same way they are on your laptop.
Before you leave it overnight
- Google Maps and website jobs run until they finish. A job on a logged-in account pauses at its limit and waits for you to resume.
- LinkedIn treats a login from a data-centre IP as a login from a new location, and may ask for a security check or restrict the account. Put the account on a proxy before you log in.
- There's no scheduler yet. TexAu Desktop keeps a long job going, but it won't start a new one every Monday at 9am.
- On Windows and Linux, closing the window quits the app. Minimize it instead.
- Updates download in the background and install only when you click restart, so an update won't cut off a running job.
